Wealdstone FC have been crowned champions of the Vanarama National League South, subject to FA Council approval, following a vote for the final league tables to be compiled on an “Unweighted Points Per Game” basis.
This means that The Stones, who were at the top of the table for the majority of the season, are promoted and will play in the Vanarama National League next season.
A statement from the Wealdstone board read: “Last night’s announcement from the National League confirming our promotion is fantastic news for the club and everyone connected to it.
“Huge congratulations must go out to Dean and Stuart, along with Kirk, Gary and Matty for delivering a side which played exceptional football and exceeded all our expectations for the season.
“Not only did the football put smiles on the faces of all our supporters, but so did the way this management team conduction themselves and integrated themselves into the club.”
The National Leagues chief executive officer, Michael Tattersall said: “I congratulate each one of our champions on their successful campaigns.
“The enforced curtailment of our season does nothing to discredit the quality of football players and I am pleased that our clubs have overwhelmingly supported the award of their titles.”
