Rickmansworth Library’s partnership with Sustainable Three Rivers (S3R) has been recognised with a prestigious award.
At the Inspiring Libraries Awards 2025, which recognise innovative work across library services, the library and S3R were named the winners of the Partnership of the Year award.
Rickmansworth Library and S3R have had numerous collaborations over the last few years. One event which stands out in particular was a Feeling Good session, in which S3R invited a local senior school to the library to make bird boxes and discuss healthy lifestyle choices. S3R made the connection to the school and facilitated the event, with support from Rickmansworth Library staff.
Most recently, Rickmansworth Library hosted a storytime, bug hunt, and craft session in their community garden which was supported by S3R. This event encouraged children to engage with nature and the library.
All of the events run by the partnership of Rickmansworth Library and S3R have promoted sustainability by upcycling craft material; family learning by teaching families how to grow vegetables; equality and inclusivity by being open to all without cost; and improving residents’ lives by encouraging a connection with nature.
