Burglars set fire to cashpoint at Abbots Langley post office

Published on: 16th July 2019   |   By: News Desk   |   Category: Uncategorized

Burglars attempting to break into an ATM in Abbots Langley left empty handed yesterday (July 15).

Police were called at 2.17am to a burning cash machine at the Post Office in High Street.

Firefighters were also called after calls reported smoke and flames coming from the machine.

A black Audi was seen leaving the area, travelling towards Hemel Hempstead.

A cordon was set in place whilst forensics examined the area.

No one was reported to have been injured and nothing was reported stolen.

Anyone who has any information which may help with our enquiries is encouraged to call 101, quoting ISR 48 of 15 July.

In June a similar incident occurred where thieves used a gas canister to steal a vast amount of money from the ATM on Cunningham Way.

It is not yet known if both incidents are linked.
