The world’s top snooker stars will be performing in Watford in a frantic version of the game that promises excitement.

Stars such as Jimmy White, Shaun Murphy, Mark Williams and defending champion Anthony McGill will be playing in the Coral Shoot Out at Watford Colosseum, which starts on February 8 and will run until February 11.

In total 128 players are taking part in the event, where matches last a maximum of 10 minutes and are played in a single frame. There is also a shot clock to make sure the action is fast and furious.

The competition is played in a knock-out format, and the last man standing at the end of four days of non-stop drama wins the trophy and a top prize of £32,000.

A spokesman for World Snooker said: “In recent years the Coral Shoot Out has become one of the most keenly anticipated tournaments on the calendar.

“Every match provides thrills and spills and the crowds are encouraged to get involved and support their heroes. This is a phenomenal chance to see many of the best players and enjoy the thrill of fast and furious snooker.

“We’re delighted to bring the event to Watford to the excellent Colosseum venue and to give supporters in the area the chance to see live snooker.”
