An artist from Gerrards Cross met with British astronaut Major Tim Peake to showcase the portrait he had painted of him.
The oil painting, created by George Groves and signed and dated by Peake, was recently unveiled at Aylesbury Waterside Theatre.
Art lovers can buy the piece from George’s website for £8,200, with a percentage of the proceeds going to youth charity The Prince’s Trust.
George said on Instagram that he is drawn to painting “individuals with a story to tell”; he has previously painted Sir David Attenborough, Sir Michael Caine and Dina Asher-Smith.
He said: “Tim has not only achieved incomprehensible feats, but has provided a platform for the future generation of aspiring individuals to thrive. Being able to capture that on canvas and tell a magnificent story is truly a privilege.”
Major Peake is currently on his UK tour, My Journey to Space, where he discusses what it’s really like to be an astronaut.
