People in St Albans looking to get their wills written are being urged to take advantage of a money-saving charity will campaign.
Throughout November, law firms are volunteering their time to write basic wills in exchange for donations to Will Aid and appointments are now available.
Firms taking part in the area include Labrums Solicitors, which has raised £27,530 for the campaign since it first took part in 2008.
Writer, journalist, presenter and Will Aid ambassador, Robert Peston, experienced the impact a will can have when his wife sadly passed away.
He said: “When my late wife Siân Busby and I wrote our wills in our early 40s, we assumed this was boring insurance for an event that would never happen. Only ten years later, Siân died after a horrible illness, and it fell to me to sort out her affairs.
“Devastated by grief, I was so grateful that she had written down what she wanted to do with her money and possessions, and had given clear instructions about what should be done with her ashes.”
People can book their will appointment for this November by calling 0300 0300 013 or visiting www.willaid.org.uk.
