On Monday 11th September, nine teams participated in the annual Aspire Golf Day at Porters Park Golf Club in Radlett, Hertfordshire, raising £8,750. Aspire is a national charity that provides practical help to people who have been paralysed by Spinal Cord Injury and the funds raised will help spinal cord injured people move from injury to independence. Following lunch, the nine participating teams were treated to a fantastic display by trick shot legend Jeremy Dale, then teeing off at the start of the 18 holes around the beautiful Porters Park golf course, with a chance to attempt a trick shot themselves with Jeremy Dale on the 16th tee. The winners were the Porters Park Tigers team, captained by George Copley, who says, “I’d like to thank the charity Aspire and its Trustee David Holden and his team for the impeccable organisation of a wonderful day of golf and entertainment at Porters Park Golf Club. I’m delighted that we were able to support this fantastic charity which really helps people with spinal cord injuries, and I look forward to participating again next year.” Aspire would like to thank those who gave so generously to our auction and raffle: Porters Park Golf Club, The Pelham Group, Getty Images, Arsenal Football Club, Top Golf, Jeremy Dale, Pitch London, Watford Football Club, Best of British Beer and Andrew Murray Golf. We would also like to thank everyone that supported this year’s Golf Day by taking teams: KPMG, PNC Business Credit, Clifford Chance, Sodexo, Edge Group, Clearwater International, FRP Advisory, AKW and Bob Pettit. Lastly, thanks to Shaun Sewell, who spoke about his experience of sustaining a spinal cord injury, and Trustee and past Captain of Porters Park, David Holden, for all his support.
