The Harry Potter Studio Tour in Leavesden has been named as the most in-demand visitor attraction in the UK.
In a survey conducted by hotel chain Premier Inn, the tour was also found to be the second most-in demand attraction in the entire world, coming behind only Neuschwanstein Castle in Germany and Machu Picchu in Peru, which came joint first.
Since opening in early 2012, the studio tour has been a huge draw for visitors in the Hertfordshire area, with tens of thousands of visitors from across the globe coming to see sets, props and costumes from the beloved Harry Potter film series.
The poll takes into account how many days a tourist would need to pre-book ahead of the day of their visit. On average, a visit to the Harry Potter tour, located at the Warner Bros. film studios in Leavesden, would need to be pre-booked around 34 days in advance.
This is 12 days more than the UK’s second most in-demand visitor attraction, London’s Sky Garden; and 22 days more than the third most in-demand site, the world-famous Big Ben.
In the poll, Premier Inn stated: “The Harry Potter Studio Tour in the UK is an absolute must-visit for all Potterheads.
“With the movies’ and books’ global appeal comes a high demand for tickets, generating a pre-booking window of 34 days and landing this studio tour on the number two spot.”
