Five people were taken into police custody yesterday (Wednesday, March 23) after being discovered in the back of a lorry in Hemel Hempstead.
There was a heavy police presence around a parked up lorry on Maylands Avenue at around 5pm.
Hertfordshire Police confirmed to MyLocalNews: “Police were called at around 4.55pm on Wednesday, March 23 after five people were discovered travelling in the back of a lorry in Hemel Hempstead.
“The driver had stopped the lorry near the Maylands Estate after hearing noises coming from inside.
“Officers attended and the group were taken into police custody.
“Enquiries are continuing at this time.”
