Detectives from the Bedfordshire Cambridgeshire and Hertfordshire Major Crime Unit are continuing with their pursuit to trace a man who failed to return on bail in March this year in connection with the murder of a Watford man. Michael Mc Inerney, 32, of no fixed abode, had been due to answer bail in connection with the murder of Arulchelvam Prasanna in a Watford car park last year. Sadly, Arulchelvam Prasanna passed away at St Mary’s Hospital, London, 11 days after being found in the car park of Costco in Hartspring Lane, Watford at around 2.45 pm on Sunday, May 26th. Detective Inspector Scott Winton from the Bedfordshire Cambridgeshire and Hertfordshire Major Crime Unit, said: “Despite national coverage and our continued relentless pursuit to trace Michael Mc Inerney he continues to evade police having failed to answer his bail for an extremely serious offence. I am urging anyone who may know of his whereabouts to contact police immediately on 999. Michael, if you see or hear this appeal, we will find you and it is in your best interests to hand yourself in. “ I would also like to remind anyone who may be providing shelter to Michael – that it is a criminal offence to harbour a criminal wanted by police. Last Thursday (October 16th), two men were sentenced to to a total of eighteen years in custody for the manslaughter of Mr Prasanna. Patrick O’ Driscoll, 34, of Purkiss Road, Hertford was sentenced to ten and a half years for manslaughter after pleading not guilty to murder but guilty to manslaughter. In addition to this, he also received two sentences of three and a half years to run concurrently after pleading guilty to two charges of conspiracy to steal from motor vehicles one on May 25th and one on May 26th last year. James O’Driscoll, 45, of Hamlet Hill, Roydon, was in a separate vehicle, and was sentenced to seven and a half years for manslaughter after pleading not guilty to murder but guilty to manslaughter. In addition to this, he also received two sentences of three and a half years to run concurrently after pleading guilty to two charges of conspiracy to steal from motor vehicles one on May 25th and one on May 26th last year. Both men had entered not guilty pleas at a hearing in June but changed their pleas on day two of the trial at Southwark Crown Court on Tuesday (October 14th).
