Crowds swelled at the return of the Chorleywood Village Day today (Saturday, July 8) as residents from the village and beyond enjoyed a number of stalls, food, and entertainment.
The day got off to an inauspicious start as dark clouds circled and the chimes of thunder brought about a feeling of impending doom. Rain was forecast for the duration of the festival but by mid-afternoon the sun was shining and streams of residents began to pour in.
Villagers who attended the event, held on the Chorleywood Common between 12pm and 4pm, were able to enjoy a range of community, craft and food stalls, including the Chorleywood & District Horticultural Society, Chorleywood Music, Neighbourhood Watch, and the Chorleywood Resident’s Association, and were serenaded by a host of musical performances including a set by Chorleywood Community Choir.
One resident told Chorleywood News, “I always love the village day, its so wholesome!”, whilst another exclaimed, “I never knew Chorleywood had so much to offer!”.
