Local officers from Stanmore and Canons Park Safer Neighbourhood Teams recently completed a weapons sweep around Stanmore & Canons Park Synagogue.
As well as the sweep over the weekend of Saturday, October 12, officers also conducted reassurance patrols around the synagogue during Yom Kippur.
The police also used the opportunity to speak with Senior Rabbi Mendel Lew.
No concerns were raised during the weapons sweep or patrols of the area.
Superintendent Zubin Writer, the Lead for Neighbourhoods Policing in Harrow, said: “Local Neighbourhood Policing Teams have conducted patrols around Harrow synagogues during the month of October to provide reassurance and visibility over the Jewish High Holy Day period.
“This is part of a wider programme of activity, promoting engagement with all faith networks in Harrow as various religious and cultural events take place.
“Officers have been and will continue to be on hand to speak with members of the public, offer appropriate crime prevention advice, and will ensure the safety of all Harrow’s communities during this busy time of year.”
