A Hatch End restaurant was hit by a car and robbed, the second in two days in the area, with the police now hunting for the suspect.
Tonito’s, a well-known Italian eatery was targeted on August 8, where CCTV outside and within the restaurant caught a dark-coloured BMW ramming into the glass front of the restaurant, with the driver exiting the vehicle, running inside and taking money out of the cash register. This comes just days after a similar incident on Rayners Lane in Harrow.
Hatch End councillor Matthew Goodwin-Freeman shared the footage on his Facebook page, where he said: “Some idiot decided to drive past Tonitos, turn, drive the wrong way up the road and drive into the building last night hoping to make a quick buck. Thankfully no-one is injured, all are safe.
“This has been reported to the police, but if anyone spots the black BMW, YK67 KPZ (stolen plates) then obviously call the police.”
Met Police have been contacted for more information.
