Published on: 16th April 2024   |   By: News Bulletin   |   Category: Uncategorized

Officers are appealing for witnesses, information and dash cam footage following a multi-vehicle road traffic collision in St Albans.

The incident happened around 3.10 pm on Thursday, April 4 on Hatfield Road.

It is reported that a green single-decker bus was travelling east towards Hatfield before, for reasons currently unknown, it was involved in a collision. The bus then came to rest after striking a wall and the driver, a man aged in his sixties, was taken to hospital where he continues to recover from his injuries.

Sergeant Matthew O’Neill, from the Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire and Hertfordshire Road Policing Unit, said: “Our enquiries continue as we work to establish the full circumstances around this collision.

“If you were driving in the area at the time and have a dash cam fitted, please check it as you may have recorded some crucial footage. Additionally, if you saw what happened, you can email me at matthew.o’neill@herts.police.uk.

“We are particularly keen to hear from any passengers who were travelling on the bus and left the scene before police arrived, as they may have important information to help progress our investigation.”

You can report information online at herts.police.uk/report, speak to an operator in our Force Communications Room via our online web chat at herts.police.uk/contact or call the non-emergency number 101, quoting ISR 430 of April 4, 2024.
