Kings Langley had to come from behind to pick up a point away at Peterborough Sports last night, with Jordan Parkes scoring from the penalty spot not long after they went behind.
It’s the Lango’s second draw in as many league games, but after seeing Lloyd Doyley being sent off in the latter stages of the game, it may be seen as a point earned rather than two points dropped.
Chris Cummins’ men started brightly, with Parkes hitting a half-volley from the edge of the box which just went the wrong side of the post in the seventh minute.
Peterborough Sports almost went ahead themselves though when goalkeeper Alex Tokarczyk was forced into a spectacular save from a free kick.
The home side did open the scoring not long after though when Josh Moreman’s calm finish went beyond Tokarczyk’s reach and into the net.
Kings replied 10 minutes later though after Harry Crawford was fouled in the penalty area, allowing Parkes to hammer his spot-kick into the top right corner.
Peterborough looked bright at the start of the second half, and Tokarczyk made another good save to deny Moreman’s headed effort to get them back in front.
The game then began to cruise to its conclusion until the last few minutes of the game where Doyley picked up a second yellow card, but Kings managed to hold on for a point.
Kings sit in 13th place after their first four games and are back at home on the weekend against Lowestoft Town.
