Despite going ahead on two occasions, Northwood fell to a disappointing 3-2 defeat away at South Park last night.
The Woods were leading 2-1 at half time thanks to goals from Richard Ward and Devonte Totesaut, but South Park turned it around in the second half, with the winner coming in the 83rd minute.
The game couldn’t have started much better from a Northwood point of view, with Ward rifling the ball home from 25-yards after a poor clearance from South Park’s goalkeeper.
However, the lead didn’t last long, with Leon Lalor-Dell levelling procedures seven minutes later.
A few minutes before half time, Northwood regained the lead through a Totesaut effort from just outside the box which left the ‘keeper with no chance.
On the hour mark, Lalor-Dell equalised once again after a counterattack from the home side caused troubles for the Woods’ defence.
It was Northwood pressing for the lead once again, with Ward having a few efforts, but had no luck in front of goal.
It was a nightmare ending though the away side, with Nassim Dukali ending up with the loose ball from a corner and hit his effort through the Woods’ defence and beyond Al-Droubi to put them in front with just a few minutes remaining.
The result means Northwood have one win from their first three games and will hope to bounce back against Chertsey Town at home on Saturday afternoon.
