Staff at Woodoaks Farm in Rickmansworth have been left disheartened after their “lovingly crafted” Easter Trail was vandalised.
The event ran from April 5 to 21 and featured a trail around the farm with wildlife facts and different exercises, as well as a chocolate treat at the end.
Sadly, Woodoaks announced on Sunday, April 20, that parts of the trail had been vandalised.
Posting on Facebook, they said: “Volunteers and artists poured their time, creativity, and care into crafting the trail—bringing joy to families and children visiting the farm this spring. To see that effort deliberately damaged is incredibly disheartening. We are so sorry that it may have spoilt some people’s enjoyment today. We are trying to find the missing pieces to put it right – but it’s not easy.
“This trail is about community, connection, encouraging wellbeing, getting kids outside and away from our devices and celebrating nature together. Whilst the damage is upsetting, we won’t let it undo the positivity and purpose behind it. We’ve loved watching the happy trailers!
“To our amazing volunteers: thank you. Your efforts are valued more than ever. And to our wider community: we’d love your help in keeping Woodoaks a welcoming and safe space for everyone.”
Their post received more than 60 comments and over 160 likes, with many sharing their support for the beloved farm.
The following day, volunteers Bernie, Sue and Vidiya helped to repair the damage to the trail and thanked everyone for their “kind words of support”.
