EYES OPEN: Installation of two Abbots Langley CCTV cameras approved following complaints

Published on: 13th May 2025   |   By: Nik Allen   |   Category: Uncategorized

Two new CCTV cameras are set to be introduced in Abbots Langley.

The new cameras will be installed at Furtherfield, an area that has recently seen a number of fly-tipping complaints, and Katherine Place car park, which has been subject to anti-social behaviour complaints.

Councillor Stephen Giles-Medhurst, Leader of Three Rivers District Council (TRDC), said: “In our council budget in February, we increased the number of CCTVs we are funding and agreed to replace all the existing cameras with more modern ones with better night vision, so I am very pleased that two hotspots in the area will get them.”

CCTV is being deployed across the district to help combat anti-social behaviour and crime, based on assessment by the Three Rivers Community Safety Partnership, of which TRDC and Hertfordshire Police are members.

For each proposed camera installation, TRDC will notify any residents or businesses potentially impacted by the decision. A two-week public consultation period will follow, during which no cameras will be installed.
