Player development growing stronger at Bedmond Youth

Published on: 29th May 2019   |   By: News Desk   |   Category: Uncategorized

Bedmond Youth finished the campaign on a high as three teams won their finals at the West Herts Youth League.

The club’s U7, U8 and U11 Reds scooped trophies at the tournament which took place at Kings Langley FC on May 12. The U12s also won the Division 1 title.

Club manager Mark Mole said the achievements have been a slow process to build on.

He said: “I revamped the club about eight years ago to put my philosophy on the club. The managers are all parents and volunteers, so I’d have to compliment them.

“We try to create the right environment for the children to enjoy their football – we don’t discriminate on ability. It’s been a slow process but to be honest I’m not surprised we have achieved well. I’m pleased we’re doing well. I don’t judge success on the victories but on how their doing on their doing ability wise.”

From a team that was struggling to attract new players, Mark’s turn around of the club has spread by word of mouth alone. The attitude is different to other club’s as Mark explains.

“Bedmond Youth is all about the development of the boys and to make them feel happy playing football. You see other clubs where parents are shouting but our philosophy is to let the kids enjoy football. And that’s how we’ve grown over the years, it’s all gone through word of mouth.

“Thank all of our supports because if it was not for them then no teams would have any kit.”

Bedmond Youth has a new U6 team starting next season and are looking for kit sponsors. Email Mark at mark.mole@icloud.com for more information.
