Volunteers were left “gutted” and “disappointed” after a camellia plant was stolen from the Peace Garden in Pinner.
The incident took place in the garden, which is located within Pinner Memorial Park, around March 19. Since then, four scented white hyacinths have also been stolen.
This isn’t the first time theft has occurred at the garden, as two white roses were previously stolen around June 19, 2022.
Julie Waller, chair of The Pinner Association, said: “Our volunteers are absolutely gutted that someone is undermining their hard work. The Pinner Association gives the volunteers a £200 budget a year to spend on plants, so both us and our volunteers are in a quandary as what to plant next as it might be stolen again. Our volunteers work extremely hard to make the gardens look wonderful for public enjoyment. It’s a shame that someone is spoiling this for everyone.
