A planning application has been submitted to update a play area in Northwood.
Currently, the site in Eastbury Recreation Ground on Batchworth Lane includes apparatus such as a willow tunnel, crawling tunnel, two cradle seat swings, a spinner bowl, a basket swing, and a multi-play area for toddlers.
The proposals include a new wooden tower with a den beneath, a rope and log tangle, monkey rings, traversing ropes, and a slide.
The existing two swings would be replaced with one flat and one toddler swing. The basket swing and spinning dish will remain. There would also be some landscaping improvements, with new seats to be installed.
The developers say the update is much needed to provide an acceptable playing facility for children in Eastbury and Moor Park.
If the plans are approved, it is hoped that the works will be completed by Christmas. Before then, the proposal will need to gain the approval of surrounding residents through a consultation.
