PLANE MESSAGE: YouTube star makes Hemel Hempstead residents smile

Published on: 22nd February 2021   |   By: Lizzie Ellis   |   Category: Uncategorized

A YouTube star lifted the spirits of Hemel Hempstead residents yesterday (Sunday, 21 February) by sending an aeroplane with a banner that read ‘You’re beautiful to me Hemel’ to circulate the town.

Online content creator Max Fosh, who has over 362,000 YouTube subscribers, organised the project after he saw a resurfaced article that named Hemel Hempstead as the ugliest town in the UK.

Max Fosh told HemelNews: “I wanted to do something that would make the residents of Hemel feel a little bit better. Initially, I looked into billboard space in Hemel, but then my flatmate suggested that I could see if I could get one of those planes and banners.

“The reaction to the message was various tweets and some chatter on the local Facebook pages. I’m not massively after a huge public reaction, just wanted to tell the residents they are beautiful.”

Residents took to social media to discuss the circulating plane, which was spotted from Adeyfield, Apsley, Bennetts End, Bovingdon and Leverstock Green.

One commented: “Absolutely fabulous. Thank you for doing this. Whoever you are.

I think Hemel Hempstead needed this at the moment. My prayers to you all on this Sunday.”

Another said: “Just seen it over Bennett’s End, what a lovely thing to see. It’s going to cheer up some people in Hemel today.”

Max filmed the process for a video that comes out this week on his YouTube channel.
