BODY CONFIDENCE: Abbots Langley resident wins Miss Voluptuous title

Published on: 22nd February 2021   |   By: Geraint Roberts   |   Category: Uncategorized

Nicola Floss, a 31-year-old Detective Constable from Abbots Langley, has been named the new ‘Miss Voluptous’ after she’s been working throughout several lockdowns promoting body confidence in as many different ways which the climate would allow.

In a bid to encourage others to feel confident and comfortable within their own skin, Nicola pushes boundaries, smashes through stereotypes and challenges limits within the beauty world.

More than 30 delegates took part in an attempt to win the title ‘Miss Voluptuous England’ on Saturday, February 6 which saw the event go virtual for the first time.

Nicola wanted to thank many people for helping her get to the success she has now received. Including everyone who supported all of the charities she has worked with, as well as her family.

She said: “Thank you to each and every one of you that has supported my charity fundraising, from supporting The Kindness Boxes, which raised more than £800, to supporting the face masks which I designed.

“I couldn’t have done it without all of your support. Lastly, thank you to mu family, who have bene incredible throughout and supported every new crazy challenge I make and conjure up! Thank you to everyone since 2016 for taking this journey with me. Something tells me this is only the beginning.”

Nicola has held events such as Confidence in Lockdown where interviews were conducted and later published within later regional and national lockdowns.

She has received support from people such as Trevor Dion Nicholas and has taken part in these himself.

Nicola created a Kindness Box during the initial lockdown where items which promoted forward positive thinking were able to be sent to loved ones in personalised keepsake boxes with all proceeds going to charity.

A number of fundraising events had to be conducted throughout several lockdowns to assist with people’s mental health during lockdowns. Nicole has raised over £1300 for several charities, including Terrence Higgins Trust, Survivors Trust and Mind Hertfordshire Network.

The new Miss Voluptuous is heading to Nashville, Tennessee in United States of America for the International Competition in October. In the meantime, she intends to travel as far as possible to promote her message which is; “Every person has the right to feel confident and comfortable in their own skin.”

Nicola has her message written on her car and if you spot it, always welcomes a wave or a thumbs up. Nicola is also a signed curve model with NoBox Modelling Management.
