The Chiltern Arts Society (CAS) has been encouraging young artists in The Chalfonts and Gerrards Cross through awards and art showcases.
The first event was the Young Arts Painting Competition organised for Year 5 and 6 children from four primary schools across the area: Chalfont St Peter Church of England Academy, Chalfont St Giles Village School, Robertswood School, and St Mary’s School.
Budding young artists submitted more than 550 entries to the contest.
A special prizegiving for the entries in first, second and third place, as well as best in school, took place at Chalfont St Peter Community Library.
Elsewhere, CAS has sponsored the purchase of new canvases and paints for art students at Chalfonts Community College.
Recently, the artwork created using this new equipment was displayed at The Hub at Gold Hill Baptist Church in Chalfont St Peter.
