After the success of last year’s October half term event, local charity You Matter is once again hosting a free Performing Arts Week for children aged 8 to 16 in Garston.
The course will run from October 23 to 27, between 9.30am and 3pm. Led by acclaimed choreographer and creative movement coach Briony Albert, children will learn to sing, dance, act, develop circus skills and otherwise experience the world of the performing arts. Briony has worked with some of the most famous music and dance artists in the world, including Madonna, Kylie, Coldplay, Snoop Dog and Camila Cabello, and has choregraphed routines for Strictly Come Dancing, The X Factor, The Voice and Dancing On Ice.
The course will take place at the Meriden Community Hall and will feature a showcase at the end of the week, where children can share their newly acquired skills with friends and family.
The Performing Arts Week is fully funded by You Matter. Beyond promoting access to the performing arts, You Matter provides family support services, pre-loved clothes and furniture, and food bank services for vulnerable people in Garston and the Meriden.
Application forms are available from the You Matter Charity Shop at 168 York Way, WD25 9EA, or can be downloaded from their website at www.youmatterwatford.co.uk
