The Stanmore Arts and Crafts group has taken to decorating the area in support of a local cancer centre.
Residents can see nine yarn bombed postboxes throughout Stanmore, all of which have been inspired by different songs, from well-known nursery rhymes to 2023 hits.
Lynne Jones has been making toppers in Stanmore for more than two years.
She said: “The toppers take many hours to produce. Where possible, we reuse the bases and other items in different configurations for our different themes (for example, the donkey had a walk-on part in the nativity scene, played the piano for Valentine’s Day and also appeared in our Shrek topper).”
With the project, the group is supporting Mount Vernon Cancer Centre in Northwood.
The group said: “We hope that people whose days are brightened by seeing our handmade postbox toppers will want to help brighten someone else’s day by making a donation to this amazing charity.”
