Businesses in Croxley have welcomed back the community with open arms as they reopened their doors in line with government guidance last month.

This month at CroxleyNews we spoke to some businesses about how it feels to see familiar faces and back trading again after months of uncertainty.

One industry that was hit hard was the beauty industry with hair and beauty salons alike forced to shut for several months.

Clare Lemon, owner of CJ Barbers, said that she is happy to be back and grateful to see so many regular customers return.

She said: “On my first day reopen I had a three-and-a-half-hour queue all day and people were queuing from half six in the morning.

“It’s really good to be back and it’s nice that everybody has come back to me. Everyone has been amazing about the queuing time and there’s a lot of smiley men leaving the shop.”

Louise Cross of Bliss Beauty said that she is over the moon to welcome back her “family” into the salon where she has worked for 14 years.

She said: “It’s been incredible, I think the beauty industry as a whole have been chomping at the bit to get back.

“Everyone seems to be in a good mood I think it’s because there’s light at the end of the tunnel.

“It’s just amazing to be back, I’ve been at Bliss for 14 years and those clients I’ve known for that long, they’re family to me.”

Jo from The Sportsman pub is also happy to have reopened after spending time and money converting a car park into a beer garden.

She said: “We have seating out the back now and it’s gone very well. It’s good to see people out socialising again.”
