PEACEFUL ROADS: Traffic vanishes as Hertfordshire enters the second lockdown

Published on: 5th November 2020   |   By: Holly Bullen   |   Category: Uncategorized

Today marks the start of the second lockdown for England which will see more than 50 million people stay in their homes as gyms, restaurants and pubs are closed until December 2.

This lockdown has been introduced after the number of COVID-19 cases continued to rise, despite the introduction of the localised tier system.

Although slightly less strict that the previous lockdown, the government have advised to limit all travel to essential travel such as travelling for work if you can’t work from home.

This decline in travel was evident today on the M1 in Hertfordshire, as the busy motorway which is usually filled with commuters was in fact almost deserted, as people return to the routine of working from their homes.

It is hoped that this lockdown will help to reduce the number of cases allowing restrictions to be eased across the county from December 2.
