The results of the NHS England GP Patient Survey have been released, revealing fascinating insights into patient satisfaction in Radlett.
The Red House Group, based in Watling Street, is the only provider of GP services in the village, and also has surgeries in Andrew Close in Shenley and Park Street in St Albans.
Overall, the percentage of patients who described their overall experience of the Radlett practice as good was 65 per cent, slightly below the national average of 71 per cent.
In some areas, the Watling Street surgery scored higher than the national average, with 63 per cent of patients finding it easy to contact the surgery by phone, compared to a national average of 50 per cent.
Sixty-three per cent of respondents to the survey said that they usually get to speak to their preferred GP when they would like to, considerably higher than the national average of 35 per cent.
However, the surgery scored lower in other areas. Seventy per cent of patients stated that they felt the healthcare professional they spoke to recognised or understood any mental health needs during their last general practice appointment, compared to the national average of 81 per cent.
In total, of the 321 surveys sent out to patients, 122 were sent back, meaning 38 per cent of patients responded to the questionnaire.
