Residents’ concerns about parking outside the parade of shops in York Way, Garston, were raised in Parliament last month.
Dean Russell, MP for Watford, told the House of Commons on February 1 that he has been working for some time to bring together relevant organisations to solve the issue.
Mr Russell MP explained that drivers were ignoring double yellow lines outside the shops and stated it it is an accident waiting to happen.
The MP said: “One of those issues that’s really pressing is the drivers and illegal parking that’s happening outside the new parade of shops.
“While work is being done, I am sharing the residents’ concerns, which I also have, that this dangerous parking remains a serious accident waiting to happen.”
A Hertfordshire County Council spokesperson said: “We know that parking in the area has been difficult during the development works, and we’ve been working with the developers and the borough council to address these issues.”
