A special one-off outdoor event celebrating Rickmansworth High Street reopening is set to take place on July 17 from midday to 5pm.
The event hopes to encourage the reinvigoration of the town centre, with children’s fairground rides, candyfloss, punch and judy, live music from three sites and contributions from the towns High Street outlets, encouraging footfall to the town centre.
Rickmansworth Town Team Chair, Steve Mander said: “The whole ethos of the event is for the High Street. Estate agents, cafes and bars will all be involved. There will be musical acts in various forms. It will be a busker’s glory, we haven’t got a big fancy stage, just gazebos and people out enjoying themselves. The message of the event is, ‘Welcome to Rickmansworth, we are open.’”
Live music performances will take place at three sites, one on the High Street, one outside Watersmeet Theatre and one by Station Road.
The Rickmansworth Town team normally hosts an annual Folk Festival, which has been unable to go ahead this year due to being an indoor event. The Town Day, hosted outside on the High Street, is an alternative day of entertainment for residents.
