PANCAKE RACE: Annual fundraising event returns to Rickmansworth High Street

Published on: 18th January 2024   |   By: Sophia Sheera   |   Category: Uncategorized

Aspiring pancake-flippers will soon have a chance to prove their prowess when the annual Ricky Pancake Race returns to the High Street this Pancake Day.

The Ricky Pancake Race, now in its 25th year, is a popular event in many residents’ diaries. Alongside fostering community spirit, the Pancake Race also raises funds for Watford & District Mencap.

All money raised will go towards supporting the 800 local children and adults with learning disabilities in the wider Rickmansworth area. Services include free advice and information, learning and leisure courses, and a range of activities and support at local residential homes.

Residents and businesses alike are encouraged to join in with the Pancake Race on Tuesday, February 13, whether as enthusiastic spectators cheering on the teams or as participants. Teams will pay a fee to enter the race and are encouraged to set up fundraising pages for Watford Mencap on JustGiving.

This year’s event will begin at 11am at the top of the High Street near sponsors Gibbs Gillespie.
