An author from Chalfont St Peter has released his first book and it has already received rave reviews.
Alex Bem recently released The Chronicles of a Malfunctioning Male which promises readers a “laugh” and a “fruity” read.
The book is inspired by people Alex has met over the years whether it be at school, university, at football or even in the pub.
He has then put down in words how things would pan out if the mishmash of characters from those settings collided.
Alex told My Chalfonts & Gerrards Cross News: “I set out to write a book that would appeal to a large market and hopefully I’ve done that. I think it would appeal to people who enjoy Peep Show, Bridget Jones’ diary or The Inbetweeners.
“Readers can expect laughs primarily, moments where you cringe on behalf of the characters, a reasonable level of fruity scenes and hopefully some heart-warming and touching moments.
“I’ve been blown away by the feedback so far – the speed dating scene, the sales pitch, the football match and anything including the formidable Jan Straker seem to be particular favourites at the moment.
“The amount of people who have told me they’ve never read a whole book in a day before now or that they’ve felt stupid because they’ve been laughing out loud on the tube has been brilliant – long may the book continue to make people feel stupid.”
The book is available to buy exclusively with Amazon by searching for The Chronicles of a Malfunctioning Male.
Alex can be followed on Instagram @bigalbem where more information on him and the book is shared.
