RESIDENTS REBEL: Petition against Kings Langley parking charges reaches 3,000 signatures

Residents are being warned that they don’t have long to air their views either for or against new parking charges in Kings Langley.

With a new consultation set to begin on Tuesday, May 7, High Street business owners are asking people to be aware of when it opens, and to not forget to share their own opinions on the changes.

Under the plans put forward by Dacorum Borough Council (DBC), those parking in the centre of the High Street between 8am and 6pm would be charged 80p for 30 minutes and £1.50 for an hour, with no return within two hours.

Free parking would still be available on the far ends of the street, but only for 30 minutes.

At the two car parks, the all-day free parking will be reduced to four hours only, also with no return within two hours.

This is something that many Kings Langley businesses have been against, with them setting up a petition against the proposals which, at the time of writing, has just over 3,000 signatures.

In order to share your views, speak to High Street shop owners, who have all been informed on what to do. You can also sign the petition they shall hand into DBC here.
