A Bushey care home worker has been celebrated after he reached the final of a national award.
Joe Nagra, who is head of maintenance at Bushey House Beaumont Care Home, was a finalist at the Barchester Care Awards.
He earned his place in the national final after being crowed Maintenance Champion of the Year for the south region.
The final took place on Tuesday, October 29, with residents and staff from the home tuning in to watch a live stream of the event and support Joe.
A spokesperson for the care home told Busheynews: “Joe helps out across the home. He’s head of maintenance but he will do anything to help and he is loved by everybody.
“On the day of the national awards, we had a party at the home and watched the live stream, with residents and staff getting in the spirit by decorating our lounge.
“Residents say he is a winner to them; they’re pleased that he was recognised and got his nomination.”
What a delight to see and read. If care home staff are so inspired from Manager’s like this then the care from ground up to nursing must be exemplary.
Well done Mr Nagra maintenance is such a key role, keeping the organization going and completely the necessary mandatory governance.

It defines the care hone I would say. I believe I have seen this gentleman hard at work to make sure the working of the buildings function to a high quality. Certainly my brother who is a resident says things get fixed, taken care of Pronto. I can see the governance of maintenance is such a big task and this gentleman is good at both.
