Chorleywood Music will be returning to the village in March when Chorleywood Orchestra perform their spring concert.

The event will be held on Sunday, March 25 at The War Memorial Hall at 4pm.

Violin soloist Yume Fujise will join the orchestra to perform Vaughan Williams’ The Lark Ascending, which hit number one in the Classic FC Hamme of Fame.

The spring themed programme also includes well-known classics such as Mendelssohn’s Hebrides Overture, Schubert’s Unfinished Symphony and works by Delius and Copland.

Founded by Chorleywood residents Andrew McFarlane (clarinet) and Christine Deeley (trumpet), Chorleywood Music is a community music society for classical musicians in Chorleywood and nearby villages.

The Chorleywood Orchestra had its first rehearsals in January 2017 and currently has over 30 members.

The orchestra is conducted by local professional horn player Richard Wainwright. He plays with all the major British symphony and chamber orchestras, has recorded film and TV soundtracks and his own solo albums, and has performed as a soloist with many orchestras worldwide.

Tickets cost £10 in advance from www.wegottickets.com or Chorleywood Bookshop. Tickets will be £12 on the door. Under 16s are free.
