Campaigners demand better bus service for Garston after complaints

Published on: 12th February 2018   |   By: Jason Allen   |   Category: Uncategorized

Liberal Democrat campaigners are demanding improvements to the bus service for Meriden and Garston, following many complaints from local residents.

Deputy Mayor Peter Taylor and local campaigner, Antony Barton, recently met council bosses to discuss what can be done to improve the service. Residents have complained of Arriva buses arriving late or not at all.

Antony Barton says, “If your bus is late or does not arrive, please let me know. I am keeping a record of complaints and will be meeting Arriva bosses to discuss this. Meriden’s bus service is not good enough. Lots of people rely on buses for medical appointments, going to work or school or to visit family or friends. We need a service that is reliable and affordable.”

Deputy Mayor, Peter Taylor, added, “Watford is a growing and successful town but we must have the right public transport in place to support this. If I am elected as the town’s next mayor, improving our bus services will be a top priority. Without decent bus services our roads will only get more congested. I am meeting council and bus company bosses to make the case for a better bus service for Meriden and Garston.”

If your bus to or from Garston is late, or does not arrive, please contact Antony Barton. His email address is antonyjbarton@gmail.com.
