Published on: 14th February 2024   |   By: Bryn Holmes   |   Category: Uncategorized

A Chorleywood man is awaiting trial for a causing actual bodily harm (ABH) and a series of threats to kill.

Jeffrey McCalla, 61, of Darvells Yard, appeared at Aylesbury Crown Court for a plea and trial preparation hearing on Monday, February 12. He is next due to appear in court on December 9.

Mr McCalla has been charged with having made threats to kill another man whilst in Amersham, Buckinghamshire, on July 11 last year. He is also charged with assaulting the same individual, causing ABH, on the same day.

Mr McCall is currently on bail, subject to conditions, with court documents confirming that no plea was entered for either charge during the appearances at both the magistrates’ and crown court hearings.

Under current Crown Prosecution Service guidelines, ABH is defined as including “any hurt calculated to interfere with the health or comfort of the victim: such hurt need not be permanent, but must be more than transient and trifling”.
