A Chalfonts father has ditched his corporate career in investment banking and taken the plunge of launching his own local business.
James Ross, a resident of Chalfont St Peter has ditched the world of finance to pursue his own business venture, the North Chilterns franchise of The Alternative Board (TAB).
He says that he hasn’t looked back since and that the move has allowed him to spend more quality time with his family.
The father of two now runs TAB advisory boards, which he launched two months ago, helping business owners identify opportunities and solve key challenges they face in their businesses in a group setting, using the knowledge of others to overcome problems.
James explained: “I had a corporate career in investment banking. When I had children I found I didn’t enjoy work so much and felt that I was a small cog in a big machine.
“Then, I actually started helping a few friends who had businesses that needed coaching advice which I really enjoyed. It launched in March and it has been great going out and meeting local business owners in recent months.”
James added that the pivotal turning point was reading Robert Kiyosaki’s book Rich Dad Poor Dad which made him consider building a passive income.
