NO MORE: Fly tipping incident in Chalfont St Peter angers residents

Published on: 4th September 2020   |   By: Amneet Kaur   |   Category: Uncategorized

Residents in Chalfont St Peter have said they are sick of seeing constant fly tipping in certain areas of the village.

They were angry to see another fly tipping incident in Bloom Wood.

Village resident Tracey McKay often walks her dog into the woods and she came across the rubbish dumped which left her sad and angry.

Speaking to ChalfontsNews she said: “If you’ve ever walked in there you will

know how pretty it is. I regularly walk my dogs there and enjoy seeing the seasons come and go.

“It made me feel sad actually and also angry. There was smashed glass everywhere, the bigger pieces that where visible I bagged and binned.

“During lockdown there were families walking and dog walkers. It is hazardous and also unsightly and ruins it for everyone.”

She said the council needs to install bollards so that there is no vehicular access.

Tracey took to social media to warn other residents, to which they replied expressing their anger and shock.

One person said: “It’s happening more and more in those woods. There’s even stuff tipped right at the back near the field. There is just no enforcement so it will keep happening.”

Another resident commented: “I can never understand this. Think of the animals, children etc.. total disregard! We have a wonderful recycling centre so close by! What is this achieving? I cannot stand to see this. Hopefully there will be some contact information in that pile of rubbish to get you prosecuted.”
