Residents have criticised drivers parking on the pavements in Joel Street in Northwood, saying the area has become a “nightmare”.
Multiple images of cars parked on the pavements circulated on the Northwood Hills Residents’ Association Facebook group in July.
One said: “So this is what it’s come to on Joel Street. This is the third time I’ve seen this. Nothing is being done so people aren’t worried about getting caught.”
Another commented: “As a parent with a child in a wheelchair, [this is] definitely not on!”
The pictured car was also found to not be insured, with one resident remarking that this was “unsurprising considering they think [parking like] this is acceptable”.
Pavement parking is banned throughout the 32 London boroughs and the City of London.
A spokesperson for Hillingdon Council said: “Our parking enforcement team will always issue tickets where they witness instances of illegal or anti-social parking.
“The parking enforcement team has issued 72 tickets for pavement parking in Joel Street in the past year. Unfortunately, we can’t catch all motorists, many drive off once we arrive, however residents can notify the parking enforcement team of any instances of illegally parked vehicles by calling them on 01895 271418.”
The Met Police have been contacted for comment.
