NHS HEROES: Waitrose in Rickmansworth sets up pop-up shop for NHS staff to use

Rickmansworth Waitrose have decided to implement a pop-up shop for NHS workers, staffed by John Lewis partners re-deployed from JL Watford which has temporarily closed due to the coronavirus outbreak.

The shop has put aside everyday essentials for NHS workers which will be available to them all through their trading hours, which is currently 8am-7pm on Monday to Saturday, and 10am-4pm on Sundays.

Kelly Patterson, Partner Team Manager at the store, said: “Having a range of everyday essentials available for our NHS Heroes throughout the day means that no matter what time their shift, they will be able to get the basics they need.

“Local communities have rallied and offers of support for vulnerable groups have been seen nationwide. In my letterbox just this morning was a leaflet from a neighbor offering help with shopping or errands. The worst of times seems to bring the best out of people.

“NHS staff on production of their ID will be able to shop a comprehensive range of everyday items such as pasta, fruit and veg, cereal and toilet rolls.

“We are also distributing 100 care packs to local hospitals/emergency services which will contain some basics to get people through a few days for those Heroes that cannot get to the store.”
