Aldenham Parish Council (APC) is continuing its progress with the Phillimore Recreation Ground improvements, approving a four-phase project at a meeting held on Monday, June 26.
APC has been granted planning permission by Hertsmere Borough Council to build and improve the recreation ground, following meetings with local residents about what they wanted to see improved.
The four phases include the installation of a café with both indoor and outdoor seating, improvements to the entrance into the car park, improvements to the children’s play area, and a new access path around the main field.
These new upgrades hope to make the ground more accessible to all whilst also championing sustainability. The new café has been designed to be as ecologically friendly as possible through the use of sustainable materials and solar panels.
APC also has plans to enhance other areas of Phillimore Recreation Ground including new gates, a bike park, improved noticeboards, and a path going all around the playing field to make it easier for pushchairs and wheelchairs to pass through.
