The new chairman of Abbots Youth FC is on the lookout for players and volunteers.
Spencer Hoadly is an Abbots-born lad who used to play for the club until he was 16. He took on the role of chairman last month, and also currently runs the Under 18s Division 1 team.
Speaking to Abbots News, Spencer said: “I am honoured to have become the new Abbots Youth FC chairman. It’s a football dream to have come full circle within my boyhood club.”
The club already provides teams for players between the ages of six and 18, and Spencer is now looking to expand even further with the addition of new girls’ sides and a seniors’ walking football team.
Spencer said: “Female football is becoming increasingly popular, thus showing a clear need for us to support this within our local community.
“Also, the walking team can help people who used to have a love for the game but now think it’s out of their reach.”
The club is also looking for volunteers to help run matches. If you’re interested in getting involved, contact Spencer at firstname.lastname@example.org
