New Beaver Colony invites Bushey children into the Scouting Family

Published on: 17th June 2019   |   By: News Bulletin   |   Category: Uncategorized

Most Scouting groups hit the headlines because they are facing closure but a group in Bushey is happily bucking this trend.

When the 64th Bushey and Oxhey Scout group which meets in the Scout hut on the Moatfield early last month invited young people between the ages of six and eight to an open afternoon early in May they could not have anticipated the interest they had.

Nearly 40 young people have already either joined or been placed on the waiting list. Members have an exciting few weeks ahead with a District Beaver Boat race where they will meet with other Beavers from across Watford to race their home-made boats down the river in Cassiobury Park, and a district sports day as well as their normal weekly meetings and an invite to the local campsite for a fun day.

If you think you could help this group of young people make their first steps into scouting, please call Chris Wright, district commissioner on 07917 340 739 or email dc@watfordsouthscouts.org.uk
