MY LOCAL HEROES: Nominate an individual for a Child of Courage Award

Published on: 22nd January 2024   |   By: News Bulletin   |   Category: Uncategorized

Do you know a child who has shown outstanding courage? They may be the perfect fit to be nominated for a MyLocalHero Award.

Since its inception in 2009, the awards, held at the prestigious The Grove hotel, have celebrated heroes who have played an integral part in the community.

In the past, we have honoured people from all over our news patches whose dedication to making their communities better for everyone is deserving of commendation.

The Emily Mott Child of Courage Award was named after a 13-year-old girl who raised money for a cancer charity after being diagnosed with a rare form of the disease. She sadly passed away in 2014.

At the last MyLocalHero event in 2022, inspirational teen Harry Wynne received the award after leaping into action and performing CPR on his grandad when he found him unresponsive.

If you would like to nominate your hero for the Emily Mott Child of Courage Award, please email the nomination form to nik@mynewsmag.co.uk

Other categories include Outstanding Bravery, Young Achiever, Above and Beyond, Sporting Achiever, Young Sporting Achiever, and Fundraiser of the Year.
