A concert was held last month to raise funds for a Northwood charity dedicated to helping people keep their independence as they get older.
Held at Northwood Methodist Church on the evening of Tuesday, March 12, attendees were treated to a performance of a wide variety of music from the Viva Voce Choir, made up of students at the London School of Theology and led by local opera singer Vera Wang.
The talented performers delighted the audience with music as diverse as Paul Simon’s Bridge over Troubled Water, César Franck’s Panis Angelicus, and the drinking song from La Traviata.
The event was in support of MHA Communities, a Methodist charity that offers a range of activities to older residents to reduce isolation and loneliness.
Members of the scheme and its supporters made up a good portion of attendees at the concert. Guests enjoyed refreshments and had the chance to socialise and meet the musicians.
