A woman from Hemel Hempstead has been remanded into custody after being charged with the murder of a child.
Shilyrand Charigwati from Juniper Square in Hemel was arrested on April 15, after Herts Police attended the address the day before. A child was taken to hospital and unfortunately died a short time later.
She was charged with the murder on April 15. Herts Police have now confirmed that she is awaiting trial later this year.
Herts Police released a statement saying: “Shilyrand Charigwati, aged 29, of Juniper Square in Hemel Hempstead, appeared before Luton Crown Court on Thursday, April 18, having previously been charged with murder.
“She was remanded into custody for a pre-trial preparation hearing (PTPH) on July 4, 2024. A provisional trial date has been set for 14 October 2024.”
