A woman has been charged with murder after a child died in hospital on Sunday, April 14.
Yesterday (April 15), Herts Police confirmed that a woman had been arrested on suspicion of murder, following the presence of armed police and ambulances at Wood Lane End in Hemel Hempstead on Sunday, April 14.
Officers were called to an address in Juniper Square in Hemel Hempstead at 4.40pm to assist with a medical emergency. A child was taken to hospital for emergency treatment but unfortunately died a short time later.
A 29-year-old woman has been arrested on suspicion of murder in connection with the incident and an investigation is now underway by the Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire and Hertfordshire Major Crime Unit. She remains in police custody at this time.
Today, Herts Police confirmed that Shilyrand Charigwati, 29, of Juniper Square in Hemel Hempstead, has been charged with murder. She appeared at Hatfield Remand Court today (Tuesday, April 16) and was remanded in custody ahead of a hearing at St Albans Crown Court on Thursday (April 18).
