Hemel Hempstead resident Gavin Lehmann – Gant was one of the people featured in the More to uS campaign which celebrates the achievements of people living with multiple sclerosis (MS).
The campaign centres around a virtual photography exhibition featuring the portraits and real-life stories of people with MS that show there’s much more to them than their disease.
Gavin said: “I’d always wanted to be a dad. I wanted to prove that just because I have MS, it doesn’t stop me, just have to rethink how I achieve it.
“I’d say MS doesn’t have to stop you from doing anything, but it can stop you believing in yourself. More to uS is about not being afraid to show everyone ‘yeah, this is me’.
“It’s about showing the world that even if you’ve got this thing called MS, that doesn’t detract from the person you are.”
The campaign was developed by Novartis Pharmaceuticals UK Limited in collaboration with members of the MS community.
MS is a neurological condition affecting approximately 130,000 people in the UK, and almost 7,000 people are diagnosed each year.
